1 Hume St, Mt Martha, comes renovated, with a pool, pool house and impressive views.
Champion jockey Ben Melham is selling his Mt Martha home as he and 2025 Melbourne Cup winning wife Jamie Melham mount up for the Spring Racing Carnival.
Melham has ridden to victory in more than 20 Group One events, including claiming the Golden Slipper in 2017 astride She Will Reign, as well as a Caulfield Guineas with Griff in 2023 and having ridden super mare Black Caviar to his and her first Group One win in 2010.
He and Jamie (nee Kah) wed in January last year in Victoria, becoming horse racing’s leading power couple.

They later revealed they were juggling the plans for their nuptials with a renovation of 131 Koornalla Cres, Mt Eliza, with help from Jamie’s Olympic speed skater parents John Kah and Karen Gardiner-Kah.
They sold the home for $1.395m in January this year, after listing it on the market during last year’s spring racing carnival.
This year, Melham will be riding as buyers inspect his 1 Hume St, Mt Martha, home.
The renovated, four-bedroom house set on a 1064sq m block comes with a pool and views across the bay to Melbourne’s city lights.

It’s priced at $2.2m, with Crowder Community Real Estate’s Will Crowder noting the home had the trifecta for the area, with bay views to the lights of Melbourne’s CBD, a recent renovation and a pool in the back yard.
“It’s all completely done, and it’s a really well thought out house,” Mr Crowder said.
“And the view is really spectacular as well.
“To get a home like this, in an elevated spot, there’s not many at this level with the pool and the pool house, bay views and all renovated.”
Stepping through the front door, a sweeping staircase sits alongside the ground-floor’s open-plan living and dining spaces, with a two-way gas fireplace separating the main dining area from the rumpus room that spills out to a northwest facing rear deck.

A modern kitchen is functional with a walk-in pantry and a door to the laundry, while light and bright joinery and glazed splashbacks create an engaging aesthetic.
A study or extra bedroom wrap up the level.
Upstairs, a further rumpus room with a south-facing balcony provides additional living space.
Three bedrooms on the level include one with a walk-in wardrobe and en ensuite, another with a built-in wardrobe, and a main bedroom with its own walk-in, ensuite and two balconies looking out to the bay.
Mr Crowder added that the home would most likely sell to a buyer based in Melbourne, with the possibility the home could earn as much as $1000-$1200 a night in peak tourist season.
The impressive house has a nod to Melham’s career, with stables like doors on the garage.
The home has multiple living areas for a versatile family life, or when entertaining a crowd.
“Though it wouldn’t surprise me if it went to a small family looking for something like this to live in,” he said.
The house is for sale via private treaty.
